The Aliera Companies, a holding and management company providing compliance, accounting, human resources, and training services to its subsidiaries, is hosting a company-wide food drive to benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank, according to a press release.
As part of Feed America, a national network of more than 200 food banks, the Atlanta Community Food Bank serves 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia. Through more than 600 nonprofit partners, the organization annually provides food to more than 750,000 people in need.
“While many of us take a plentiful supply of food for granted, there are far too many in our own communities who are hungry and in need of assistance,” said Chase Moses, president of The Aliera Companies. “I’m extremely proud of our employees’ dedication to helping fight hunger and grateful to the Atlanta Community Food Bank for its vital work.”
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, 16.2% of all people living in Georgia are food-insecure. As the number of Georgians who need food assistance continues to grow, the Atlanta Community Food Bank has responded by distributing enough food for more than 56 million meals each year. Still, there are individuals and families in the region with little to eat. The food bank is working toward the goal of assuring everyone in metro Atlanta and north Georgia will have access to nutritious meals when they need them by 2025.
The Aliera Companies has collection boxes in its Atlanta offices and encourages all employees to give generously.
