A man who police sought for allegedly taking "a large amount of cash" from a Dalton restaurant has turned himself in, police said.

Ulysis Garcia-Jacobo, 24, is in custody in the Whitfield County Jail. Dalton police said Garcia-Jacobo, a regular at a Dalton restaurant apparently just couldn’t resist temptation when restaurant employees left the night’s receipts unattended on a counter Sunday night.

Garcia-Jacobo was the last customer at Los Caporales restaurant, 603 Fleming St., when employees began putting together cash for that night’s bank deposit, police said. The money was left on a counter, and employees later discovered it was missing.

Surveillance video shows Garcia-Jacobo walking up to the counter, looking around, and then grabbing the money and leaving the restaurant, police said.
