A convenience store employee walked to waiting medical help after being shot in the head twice during an attempted robbery, Gwinnett County Police said.

The man was shot during an attempted armed robbery in unincorporated Tucker.

Three masked men, all with guns, entered the Discount Grocery Store on Lawrenceville Highway around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. The store’s employee reached for his own gun and tried to shoot after one of the suspects pistol-whipped him. A second suspect shot the employee twice in the head, once in the hand and once in the arm, police said. The third suspect stayed in an aisle of the store during the incident.

When the employee fell to the ground, the three suspects fled. The employee called 911, and was able to walk to medical attention when it arrived. The 37-year-old man was then treated at Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville.

Gwinnett County Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the three subjects, who were captured on surveillance video.

“Though we don’t have a good description of them, we encourage the general public to look at their clothing and call with tips,” said Cpl. Michele Pihera in a release.

Anyone with information can call Gwinnett County Police Department detectives at 770-513-5300, or make an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
