Man walks into Atlanta fire station after being shot

A 43-year-old man walked into a fire station in Atlanta with a gunshot wound to the left side of his chest, police said.

The man, whose name was not released, was shot about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of Temple Street, Atlanta police spokeswoman Officer Stephanie Brown said.

Police said he then walked into the station in the 1000 block of Joseph E. Boone Boulevard.

He was was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and is in stable condition, Brown said.

No additional information was immediately available.
