While the purple and white jersey may have suggested former Minnesota Vikings running back Chester Taylor walked into an RBC Bank in Liburn and held it up Thursday, police aren’t buying the ruse.

Lilburn police said a man wearing a Vikings No. 29 jersey robbed the bank at 494 Indian Trail around 10:30 a.m. and left with an undisclosed amount of money and a dye pack that exploded.

The suspect handed the teller a note and after getting the money and dye pack fled the bank in a maroon late model Chevrolet Corsica.

Photos from a surveillance camera inside the bank show the front and back of a heavy-set white male in his mid- to late-40s, with thinning hair and about 5 feet 11 to 6 feet tall.

The jersey he was wearing had “C. TAYLOR” across the back. Taylor played for the Vikings for four seasons before playing for the Chicago Bears and now the Arizona Cardinals.

Police say the suspect may have red dye stains and possible injuries to his body from the exploded dye pack. The car also had previous damage to the passenger-side front door, police said.

No one was injured in the holdup, the latest in a rash of bank robberies across metro Atlanta.

Anyone with information on the robbery may call Senior Investigator Kim Banks with the Lilburn Police Department at 770-638-2220.
