Alpharetta Police tracked down a man who tried to skip out on paying his taxi cab fare Sunday, but made the mistake of leaving his wallet behind.

The man ran out of the cab at 3:48 a.m. after the driver stopped on Manning Drive. Within minutes, police were able to use the identification in the man's wallet to track him to his address a few blocks away.  The cab driver offered not to press charges as long as he was paid, and the would-be thief complied. Police did not arrest him.
