One man was wounded early Tuesday in a shooting in a northwest Atlanta neighborhood, police said.

The shooting happened just before 7 a.m. at a home on Griffin Street at Cameron M. Alexander Boulevard, according to police dispatchers.

Atlanta police Sgt. Gregory Lyon told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the man, whose name was not immediately available, was shot in the arm and abdomen, and was alert and conscious when taken to a local hospital.

Lyon did not know a motive for the shooting, but said no arrests had been made.
