Police are requesting information about the killing of a 56-year-old man in southwest Atlanta early this month.

Anthony Anderson, aka “Ankie,” was was shot in “the lower portion of his body” some time before 2 p.m. on Oct. 6, police say. The victim allegedly drove his red 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 to the intersection of University Avenue and Garibaldi Street before seeking help.

Anderson told officers on the scene that he was shot near the H.E. Holmes MARTA train station. He died from his injuries shortly thereafter.

No suspects have been publicly identified.

Anderson had a Fairburn address, according to an incident report.

Anyone with information on the case may contact the homicide unit at 404-546-4235. They can also call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477; tipsters may remain anonymous and are eligible for a cash reward up to $2,000 if their tip leads to an arrest.
