Man shot and killed at Atlanta apartment complex

Atlanta police Tuesday were investigating an overnight shooting at an apartment complex that left a man dead.

The shooting happened in a breezeway at the Villages at Carver apartments on Moury Avenue in southwest Atlanta.

Channel 2 Action News reported that the victim, who was in his late teens or early 20s, might have been shot in retaliation for an earlier shooting.

“According to some witnesses, there were reports of shots fired earlier, and we are considering that in this investigation,” Atlanta police Lt. Paul Guerrucci told Channel 2.

The name of the victim, who was shot in the head, was not immediately released.
