A man is hospitalized in Chattanooga after being rescued from a north Georgia cave on Monday afternoon.

Walker County authorities said it took nearly 24 hours to reach the caver, who fell 40 feet Sunday and was trapped in Ellison’s Cave, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The man’s name has not been released.

In 2011, two University of Florida students were found dead in the cave after going rappelling with friends.

Ellison’s Cave is the 12th deepest in the United States.
