Cobb County emergency workers were called to Lake Acworth Saturday morning to rescue a swimmer reported to be "underwater."

Rescuers arrived shortly after the 9:40 a.m. call and found bystanders giving CPR to the victim, said Danell Boyd with Cobb County fire and rescue.

The man had reportedly gone under near a beach area.

He was transported to Kennestone Hospital while in cardiac arrest, said Boyd. His condition now has not been released.
