A man was killed and a woman wounded in an overnight shootout at a southwest Atlanta apartment complex.
The shooting happened late Tuesday night at the Deerfield Gardens Apartment Homes in the 2900 block of Campbellton Road.
Atlanta police Lt. Paul Guerrucci told Channel 2 Action News that there were "multiple shots fired, it looks like several different weapons, several people involved."
Two people in the parking lot were hit by the gunfire.
"One of those was a female who was transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg and a possible gunshot wound to the chest," Guerrucci told the station.
The other person, a man, was shot in the head and died at the scene. The names of the man and woman have not been released.
"It appears that it was an argument that escalated into gunfire," Guerrucci said.
