A 28-year-old man died in a motorcycle wreck in Powder Springs on Saturday night, police said.

According to investigators, James W. Groover, of Powder Springs, was driving a 2007 Harley Davidson eastbound on Moon Road west of Florence Road just before 9 p.m. His motorcycle left the roadway as he was trying to negotiate a left curve. The motorcycle hit a mailbox in the 5300 block of Moon Road before coming to a stop in a neighboring front yard.

Groover was transported to WellStar Cobb Hospital, where he died, Officer Joe Hernandez with Cobb police said.

Investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, Hernandez said.
