Man killed in head-on collision in southwest Atlanta

A man died in a wreck Monday after another driver hit him head-on in southwest Atlanta.

Police said the incident took place when a driver in a 2003 Infinity FX35 crossed over the double yellow lines while traveling north on Lee Street and crashed into the man, who was driving a 2001 Toyota Camry in the opposite direction. Both cars sustained extensive damage.

The man’s body remained on the scene until it was removed by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office. The surviving driver was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
