A 31-year-old man was killed after a dump truck overturned and landed on his car Wednesday morning in Hall County.

Investigators believe Leslie Legg, 31, of Gainesville, was driving a Ford Focus when he failed to yield to a dump truck hauling asphalt at the intersection of Ga. 60 and SR 211, also known as Tanners Mill Road, according to Georgia State Patrol spokeswoman Franka Young.

“The dump truck struck the driver’s side of the passenger car, forcing both vehicles off the roadway,” Young said in an emailed statement.

The dump truck overturned and was on top of the car, investigators said. The wreck, which happened around 9 a.m., closed traffic in both directions of Ga. 60 for about four hours Wednesday, Young said.

The driver of the dump truck, Mickey Braswell, 36, Statham, complained of minor injuries, but was not transported to the hospital, Young said.
