An 18-year-old man was killed and the driver of a 2002 Ford Explorer that overturned in the single-vehicle accident Monday evening was charged, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Patrol spokeswoman Tracey Watson identified the dead man as Juan Ocompto of Brookhaven. He was one of four people in the Explorer when it crashed on Interstate 85 northbound north of Ga. 400. Another passenger, whose name was not released, was injured.

Watson said the driver was going too fast and lost control. He was taken into custody, she said.

The name of the driver was not yet available.

Six of the seven lanes were blocked for about 2 1/2 hours after the crash.
