A man was killed and a 6-year-old boy was injured Sunday when four people suffered gunshot wounds in an apparent drive-by shooting in southwest Atlanta, police said.

Atlanta police said it was notified at 6:20 p.m. that Eugene Roberts, who sustained gunshot wounds to his head, died at Grady Memorial Hospital.

The boy, whose head was grazed by a bullet, was in stable condition at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, Atlanta police said. The shooting occurred shortly after midnight at a home on Arthur Langford Jr. Place.

The other two victims, who police have not identified, were in stable condition, police said.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

The United Youth Adult Conference has scheduled a press conference for Monday afternoon to announce a reward fund for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the attack.

“A community is judged by how we protect our young and those who are in the twilight of life,” said U.Y.A.C. president Michael Langford. “We let both down as a 6-year-old child was shot while sleeping in his 90-year-old grandfather’s home.”
