A 22-year-old man was jailed on forgery and obstruction charges last week after allegedly attempting to pass counterfeit bills in Powder Springs.

Powder Springs police say that Corey Michael Brown, of Lithia Springs, tried to pass three counterfeit $20 bills at Kroger at 4400 Brownsville Road on Dec. 28. He fled from police on foot and was later captured behind a nearby business. Brown complained of chest pain following the chase, but paramedics evaluated him and denied medical transport, police said.
