A Cobb County grand jury has indicted a man charged in connection with the shooting death of a Marietta High School student.

The grand jury on Thursday indicted Lord Isaiah Angulo on one count each of felony murder, malice murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Angulo was charged by Cobb police with the July 4 fatal shooting of 17-year-old Jalante Brown. The teen's body was found inside his home in the 1300 block of Penny Lane in Marietta.

According to an arrest warrant, Angulo shot the teenager four times using a .380-caliber handgun. Brown was pronounced dead at the scene. No other details were released by Cobb police.

Following news of Brown’s death, Marietta City Schools Superintendent Dr. Grant Rivera said in a statement, “On behalf of the Marietta City Schools staff, I express our sincere condolences to the family of Jalante.”

Angulo, 21, remains at the Cobb County Jail without bond.
