Atlanta police homicide investigators are investigating the shooting death of a man whose body was found early Tuesday on a pedestrian bridge near downtown.

A passerby discovered the victim around 4 a.m. on Elliott Street in the Castleberry Hill neighborhood of southwest Atlanta.

When officers arrived, they discovered that the man, who appeared to be about 25 years old, was dead of “what appeared to be at least two gunshot wounds,” Atlanta police Capt. Paul Guerrucci told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

At least one gunshot was to the head, he said.

Police have not released the man’s identity or a motive for the shooting.

Guerrucci said detectives were canvassing the neighborhood looking for witnesses, and would be checking the area for surveillance cameras.
