Homicide detectives Thursday were investigating the fatal shooting of a man found dead overnight in the middle of a southeast Atlanta street.

The victim, identified by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office as Fikree Jordan, 37, of Atlanta, was found by officers investigating reports of gunshots around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday on Farrington Place near Tuskegee Avenue.

“Once police got in the area and started their investigation, they located a victim that had been shot multiple times and killed on the scene,” Atlanta police Capt. Paul Guerrucci told Channel 2 Action News.

Guerrucci told the station that detectives had not established a motive for the shooting, but added, “We have nothing to believe that the victim was involved in criminal activity during this incident.”
