Man found in northwest Georgia river
April 19, 2011
The body of a 56-year-old northwest Georgia man was found Monday afternoon in the Coosa River.
The body of Billy Brock, from Calhoun, was spotted by a woman walking in the area, the Rome News-Tribune reported.
Investigators do not suspect foul play, but a cause of death has not yet been determined, Rome police told the newspaper. He appeared to have been in the water for several days.
Passer-by Stephanie Collins saw what she initially thought was a large fish or dog as she crossed a bridge over the Oostanaula River and called police. The body was recovered around 3 p.m.
