Man dies while trying to break up dog attack

A man attempting to break up a dog fight collapsed and died Friday afternoon in Douglas County.
As the man's own dogs were attacking a smaller dog, the man tried to intervene, Sheriff Phil Miller told Channel 2 Action News.
The man, whose name was not released, possibly suffered a heart attack and fell to the ground, Miller said. The incident happened on Mitchell Mill Road, off North Burnt Hickory Road near Douglasville.
Investigators initially believed the man had been attacked by the dogs, but quickly determined that was not the case, Miller said.
