A man who suffered an apparent medical emergency before crashing his vehicle into a vacant building in Marietta Tuesday night has died.

Marietta police spokesman Michael Gardner said 68-year-old James Franklin Griffin of Cartersville was stopped at a red light on Powers Ferry Road at Roswell Road about 9:45 p.m. when he apparently suffered the medical emergency.

The 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck Griffin was driving rolled through the intersection, over a curb and through the front wall and windows of  the vacant building, coming to rest completely inside the building.

Gardner said Griffin was in cardiac arrest when emergency crews arrived and was pronounced dead at WellStar Kennestone Hospital.

No one else was injured in the incident.
