A SWAT standoff in Gwinnett County ended peacefully and a man was taken into custody Sunday afternoon, police said.

Authorities were called to the scene of a “barricaded person situation” at the Autumn Trace apartment complex on September Morning off Autumn Trace Drive near Norcross, Gwinnett police spokesman T.R. Tobler said.

Dozens of residents were evacuated, Channel 2 Action News reported.

A domestic dispute escalated into the standoff with police, Tobler said. After several hours of negotiations, Eugene Clemons walked out of his apartment and surrendered, he said.

No injuries were reported.

Clemons was charged with simple battery and pointing a pistol at another person, Tobler said. More charges may be pending.
