Man critically injured during southeast Atlanta home invasion

Dec 15, 2012

A man was in critical condition after being injured Friday afternoon in an attempted home invasion in southeast Atlanta, police said.

Officers responded to a person shot call in the 900 block of Hill Street around 4:30 p.m., Atlanta police spokesman Officer John Chafee said. The man, who appeared to have been shot, was transported to Atlanta Medical Center, where he was being treated for arm and head injuries, he said.

The preliminary investigation into the incident indicates that two to four perpetrators entered the home and got into a confrontation with the occupants, during which shots were fired and one of the perpetrators was struck, Chafee said.

The investigation is continuing, and no additional information was immediately available.
