A man is in critical condition Tuesday night after he was shot in the head at a Riverdale convenience store, authorities said.

The man was at the Quick Trip at 93 Upper Riverdale road shortly before 9:30. He was a passenger in a Ford Probe that was pulling up to a gas pump, when two men with dreadlocks began shooting, firing at least 10 times, Clayton County police spokesman Officer Otis Willis said.

"The Ford Probe tried to leave the area, but struck a gray car," Willis said.

The perpetrators got into a brown car parked behind the gas station, and drove away, police said.

Three men were in the Probe, but only one man was struck. He was taken to nearby Southern Regional Hospital, where he is reportedly in critical condition.

Police haven't identified any suspects or a motive, Willis said, and continue to investigate.
