Atlanta and Georgia Tech police  made a quick arrest Wednesday after an early morning pedestrian robbery.

The victims, brothers aged 21 and 27, had left a club in the 700 block of Spring Street and were walking to their car in the nearby Arby's parking lot when they were approached by two men.

"The victims advised that one of them pointed a handgun at them and stated, ‘give me all you got or I'll kill you,'" Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones said.

One of the brothers took all his money out of his pockets and dropped it on the ground and placed his hands on the hood of his vehicle, Jones said.

"The suspects picked up his money and then attempted to rob his brother, but there were too many people coming out of the club at the time so the two males took off running," Jones said.

Meanwhile, a Georgia Tech police officer, unaware of the robbery, was on patrol when he noticed two people running from the Arby's lot and getting into a gray Toyota Prius, Jones said.

The Tech officer followed the vehicle, as it got onto the Downtown Connector, then exited at 17th Street. The officer stopped the vehicle at Spring and 17th streets, and the victims were brought to that location, where they positively identified one of the men who robbed them, Jones said.

Duane McNeil, 40, was charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and was taken to the Fulton County Jail.

The driver of the vehicle could not be positively identified by the victims and was released, Jones said.
