An 61-year-old man is dead and a man is in jail after a Duluth hit-and-run.

Damian Arroyo Burgos, 44, has been charged with vehicular homicide, driving without a license, hit-and-run, duty to report an accident and driving too fast for conditions in connection with the fatal crash. No city of residence was listed for him in jail logs.

The crash was reported to police at 9:50 p.m. on Feb. 4. The victim remained unidentified until Wednesday evening. He was 61-year-old Darwin Dixon, according to police.

Tuesday, officers located Burgos and his vehicle based on leads. Burgos admitted to police that he hit the man with his car, and was arrested and transported to the Gwinnett County Detention Center.
