DeKalb County authorities were working Friday to identify a body found in the trunk of a car that burned Thursday night at Bouldercrest Park.

The car fire was reported about 10:30 p.m. Thursday, DeKalb police spokesman Jason Gagnon told the AJC.

The body of an adult male was found inside the trunk after firefighters doused the flames.

Gagnon said Friday morning that the car had been towed to the medical examiner's office, but investigators were awaiting a search warrant before removing the body from the trunk and examining the contents of the vehicle.
