Authorities are investigating after a man’s body was found on a CSX train Monday morning.

Someone called 911 after seeing the body on a southbound train car in the area of Cassville Road and Sugar Valley Road around 10:30 a.m., the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. County dispatchers contacted CSX dispatchers, who stopped the train.

The man’s body was located on a flatcar, and investigators believe he was killed by the train or another passing train or structure, the sheriff’s office said. His identity has not yet been determined. His body will be sent to the GBI crime lab for an autopsy.

The train originated in Chattanooga, and authorities believe the man died before the train got to Bartow County.
