A Rydal man was arrested Thursday for stealing more than $50,000 worth of jewelry, valuables and cash, the Bartow County Sheriff's Office announced Friday.

Joseph William Long, 33, is being held in the Bartow County Jail on four counts of burglary and six counts of theft by deception. Additional charges for other burglaries and arrests of alleged accomplices are possible, authorities said.

Long is accused of at least four residential burglaries between October and Jan. 12, Sheriff Clark Millsap said in a news release.

Investigators tracked down the suspect and found stolen jewelry along the way, Millsap said.

Long was arrested while trying to sell stolen jewelry at an area store, authorities said. Investigators report having recovered about $25,000 worth of jewelry allegedly sold by Long to pawn and gold shops.
