A 20-year-old South Carolina man wanted for murder fled to DeKalb County, where he was arrested Thursday, authorities said.

Tobias Thomas is accused of killing 19-year-old Kaliel C. Bey on May 26 in Aiken, South Carolina, the hometown of both men, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

Thomas was arrested at a home in Decatur, the department said.

The Aiken Standard reported that Bey was found lying in an apartment complex parking lot with gunshot wounds to his head and neck. He died the next day at a hospital.

The newspaper has not reported a motive for the shooting. The DeKalb Sheriff’s Office did not give a reason for why Thomas was in Decatur.

He is being held in DeKalb jail until extradition to Aiken, where he will face a murder charge, officials said.
