A man and a girl were being treated for serious injuries Sunday after a single-engine plane crashed in Henry County.

The plane crashed about 2:30 p.m. at 909 Millers Mill Road in Stockbridge, Henry County fire spokesman Capt. Joey Smith said.

The man, who appeared to be in his 40s, was taken to Grady Hospital and the 8-year-old girl was flown to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Smith said. He did not disclose which CHOA location.

The Federal Aviation Authority and the National Transportation Safety Board have been notified and federal authorities will update with any further information, Smith said.
