A Peachtree City man has been arrested and charged with burglarizing a Fayette County church, and authorities say he is facing similar charges for other church burglaries.

Joseph Michael Robinson, 24, was arrested Thursday in connection with a burglary reported Nov. 29, said Brent Rowan, an investigator with the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.

Robinson allegedly broke into Christ’s Church at Whitewater in southern Fayette and stole money from the office. Rowan said it was unclear how much money was taken.

County investigators are tying Robinson to similar church burglaries, two in Peachtree City on Nov. 23, at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Peachtree City Christian Church, and two in Coweta County reported between Nov. 14 and Nov. 29, at the Community Christian Church and Crossroads Church.

Robinson is being held in the Coweta County Jail, where he is facing multiple charges associated with each of those burglaries, Rowan said.
