A man charged with armed robbery was recently added to the Atlanta Police Department's "Most Wanted" list.

Jovan Pickney, 37, was involved in the theft of a car from a Buckhead gas station in late June, police say.

A Cobb County man pulled up to a gas pump and got out of his 2014 BMW — which had inside it a $7,000 watch, a $3,000 set of golf clubs, $2,700 cash and a $900 iPhone 7 Plus, according to an incident report. He told police that another man then got out of a truck, got into his BMW and drove it away, with the truck following.

The next day, the BMW was found abandoned on the side of the road on Atlanta’s Westside, according to a June 29 incident report. A U.S. marshal had been pursuing the car minutes earlier to apprehend Pickney for several arrest warrants, including armed robbery and auto theft, but Pickney was not found.

A Georgia State trooper had also been looking for the car “for involvement in a robbery” driven by Pickney, a well-known auto theft suspect, the report said.

APD asks the public to alert police if they know Pickney's whereabouts. Crime Stoppers Atlanta can be reached at 404-577-8477, and the Atlanta Police Department Fugitive Unit can be reached at 404-546-4220.
