DeKalb police are looking for the owner of a malnourished dog that was left tied to a tree in the woods.

Officers found the pup abandoned near the Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Center in Lithonia on March 10, the DeKalb County Police Department said in a statement Tuesday. Police said the dog was extremely thin.

The dog was taken to LifeLine Animal Project’s DeKalb shelter in Chamblee and is alive, but officials have not provided specific details on the dog’s condition.
