Floyd R. Blair is the new president and CEO of Lutheran Services of Georgia.

He succeeds Gary Danielsen, who retired in June after serving in that position for 18 years.

Blair was raised in foster care in the public housing projects of Brooklyn, N.Y. and earned his undergraduate degree from the College of New Rochelle School of New Resources. He attended graduate school at Long Island University School of Education and received a law degree and graduate certificate in health law from the University of Maryland. He also holds a certificate of advanced study in pastoral counseling from the Saint Francis Academy.

He is a licensed attorney and member of the state bar and the U.S. District Court of Maryland
