This month Atlanta residents can get health screenings, for free or at discounted costs, through the Sickness Prevention Achieved through Regional Collaboration program. The next clinic date is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Simpson Street Church of Christ, 800 Joseph E. Boone Blvd.

SPARC Atlanta, a joint effort of the Atlanta Regional Commission and the Fulton County Office of Aging, aims to increase the number of older adults getting flu shots, pneumonia vaccinations, mammograms and other screenings. Medicare, Medicaid and some other medical insurance is accepted. Flu shots cost $25. Information: 404-613-6000.
