The city of Lovejoy has pulled the plug on a planned Nov. 3 municipal election, saving taxpayers there thousands of dollars.
The has been cancelled the vote after each position up for election has only one candidate qualified, according to
Marie Burnham, Lovejoy election superintendent. They are:
For Mayor – Bobby Cartwright
For Post I – Tommy Green
For Post II – Marci Fluellyn
For Post III – Rebekah Holland Wright
For Post IV – Mary Ann Carp
Several cities throughout metro Atlanta have done similarly. This isn’t unusual for the municipal election season.
