Georgia U.S. Rep Barry Loudermilk, R-Cassville, was lauded this week for his conservative stances.

The American Conservative Union presented Loudermilk the Conservative Excellence Award at a Washington D.C. ceremony for his 96 percent rating on the group’s 2015 congressional scorecard. The group praised Loudermilk’s work on such areas as maintaining limited government, strengthening national security and promoting family values.

Loudermilk represents the 11th district, which includes Cherokee and portions of Fulton County.
