The Greater Atlanta Christian in Norcross will open Long Forum, a $17 million, 80,000 square foot, 3,500 seat multi-purpose facility on Friday.

The girls basketball team runs through afternoon practice. Before Long Forum was constructed, GAC did not have an auditorium large enough to accommodate the school's 1,950 students. Its basketball team played in a gymnasium that could only fit 1,400 fans.

Project administrator Brett Harte walks down the Grand Staircase in the lobby. Oak trees that were on the forum's site, provided wood for the stairwell.

The facility could host commercial events like concerts, conferences, and sporting tournaments. However, school officials said they will wait a year before opening it up to outside rentals. The student led chapel band rehearses for the opening concert.
