A new position has been created at Locust Grove City Hall and a former county employee has been tapped to fill a recent vacancy.

Former community development director Bert Foster was named assistant city manager, the first person to hold that title in the city. His old position has been filled by Daunte Gibbs, who most recently was Henry County’s director of planning and zoning. Foster, Gibbs and city manager Tim Young are all former county employees.

Locust Grove is the fastest-growing city in Henry County according to recent census statistics, and the city has expanded its employee base in recent years to keep up with increased demand for various services.
