Locust Grove city Council approves land use changes
The Locust Grove City Council voted recently to approve a Livable Centers Initiative study made possible by a recent Atlanta Regional Commission grant. The council also voted to change its future land use map to include recommendations from the study.
The map was changed in part to signify lower density in some areas because population trends in the city have been lower than predicted more than a decade ago. The study created three separate overlay districts - around the Interstate 75 interchange, the central business district downtown, and certain residential areas behind the downtown district.
