Some Lockheed credit union employees went back to work Tuesday after a more than two-week strike over company benefits.

After agreeing to the contract, 17 of the LGE Credit Union employees, returned to work; 11 others lost their jobs because the company hired replacement workers to fill the positions during the strike that began Dec. 2.

The employees’ union, Lockheed’s Local 709, agreed last week to a contract that will replace the union’s pension plan with a 401K plan, offer merit increases instead of across-the-board raises and allows employees to be transferred between the company’s seven branches.
