Atlantans are being invited to pause and remember the victims of Wednesday’s fatal shootings at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, S.C., at events in the metro area Thursday.

Nine people died Wednesday when a man opened fire during services. The suspected gunman, Dylann Storm Roof, was arrested on Thursday in Shelby, N.C.

Planned tributes include:

St. Luke's Episcopal: Those who wish to remember the Charleston community are invited to a service of Holy Eucharist at 6:30 p.m. The church is at 435 Peachtree St., N.E., between Ralph McGill Boulevard and Pine Street, Atlanta.

Ebenezer Baptist Church: Will host an interfaith service at 7 p.m. to support the extended church family in Charleston. The church is at 407 Auburn Ave NE, Atlanta.
