A $3 million loan is available to DeKalb County from the Georgia Fund program to purchase 65 gallon rolling carts for residential trash pick-up. When the Board of Commissioners votes on the loan, Sanitation Division staff will recommend the county provide the containers for residents.

The Georgia Fund program is administered through the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority, which provides communities with up to $3 million in low-interest loans for water quality, water supply, stormwater and solid waste infrastructure projects.

DeKalb would pay .76 percent interest.
