Gwinnett County is taking guests into a magical “Night at the Museum,” minus Ben Stiller and in the Environmental and Heritage Center instead of New York’s Natural History Museum.

The county facility is holding its own “after-hours mystery museum experience” on Feb. 1. Instead of fossils and statues coming to life, a la the 2006 family film, center staff will dress up as historical figures including Ben Franklin, Marie Curie and Eli Whitney and interact with guests in character, a county press release said. Guests are also encouraged to dress up as their favorite historical figures.

The slightly spooky night will include a mystery museum tour, campfire stories and moonlit tram rides. The family-friendly event also features face painting and crafts. Guests will also be able to experience the only Sensorium in the Southeast. A Sensorium is a facility that allows people to use all five senses to “explore a few scientific mysteries.”

The event costs $5 per person and pre-registration is "strongly encouraged." You can register at gwinnettehc.com or pay at the door. The Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center is located at 2020 Clean Water Drive in Buford.
