DeKalb fire officials are investigating what may have caused a blaze that has reportedly destroyed a Lithonia home.

Just after 1 p.m. Sunday, DeKalb firefighters responded to a call in the 7100 block of Mill Arbor in Lithonia, off Cutter Mill Drive.

When they arrived, they found extensive smoke and flames through the roof, Capt. Eric Jackson, DeKalb fire spokesman, told the AJC.

“No one was at the home at the time of the fire that I am aware of,” Jackson said.

Firefighters were able to “knock the fire out” in 35 minutes, he said.
