Lithonia to demolish shopping center

The city of Lithonia, through a grant funded through the Development Authority of DeKalb County, plans to demolish the former Lithonia Plaza Shopping Center, located at 6887 Max Cleland Blvd., specifically, buildings 2612, 2614, and 2616.

Before demolition can commence asbestos abatement will take place. .

The grant funds are part of a federal grant awarded to the DADC under an Environmental Protection Agency Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund grant.
